Government Grant Compliance Checklist
Before submitting any government grant application, confirm your SAM.gov registration is active, your certifications are current, your business is not debarred, your proposal meets all formatting and page limits, and every solicitation requirement is addressed. Missing any compliance item is the most common reason strong applications are rejected.
Pre-application compliance
Verify these items before you begin drafting:
- Active SAM.gov registration and current Unique Entity ID
- Correct NAICS codes and size standard for the opportunity
- Current representations and certifications
- No active exclusions, debarments, or suspensions
- Any required set-aside certifications in place
Proposal compliance
As you build the proposal, ensure it:
- Addresses every evaluation criterion in the RFP
- Stays within page limits and formatting rules
- Includes all required forms and attachments
- Provides a complete, justified budget
- Contains a compliance matrix mapping requirements to responses
Submission compliance
Submit through the required portal well before the deadline, confirm your submission receipt, and retain copies of everything. Late or incomplete submissions are almost always rejected without review.
Our proposal package includes an automated compliance audit that checks these items so nothing is missed before submission.
